"9 to 5" is a song by American country music singer Dolly Parton written for the 1980 comedy film of the same name. The song also served as the centerpiece for Parton's twenty-third solo studio album, 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs. "9 to 5" was released as a single on November 29, 1980. It garnered Parton an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song and four Grammy Award nominations, ultimately winning Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance, Female.
