Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is an English singer and songwriter. One of the world's best-selling music artists, Adele has sold over 120 million records worldwide[1]. After graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in 2006, she signed a record deal with XL recordings, releasing her debut album 19 through the label in 2008. The album was certified 8x platinum in the United Kingdom and triple platinum in the United States, and spawned the hit singles "Chasing Pavements" and "Make You Feel My Love". In 2011, Adele released her sophomore album 21, which sold over 31 million copies worldwide. In the UK, 21 was certified 21x platinum, while in the US it was certified Diamond and topped the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks. It also spawned the successful singles "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain".

In 2015, Adele released her third studio album, 25. It became the year's best-selling album, breaking first-week sales records in the UK and US, and was ultimately certified Diamond in the latter country. The album's lead single, "Hello", became the first song to sell over one million digital copies in the US, and appeared in Sing 2.
