Tim Bergling (ˈtɪmː ˈbæ̂rjlɪŋ; born September 8, 1989, died April 20, 2018), known professionally as Avicii (/əˈviːtʃi/) was a Swedish musician, songwriter, record producer, remixer, and DJ. At the age of 16, Avicii began posting remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal[1]. Avicii began his rise to prominence with the success of his 2011 single "Levels". He also collaborated with David Guetta that year on the song "Sunshine", which was nominated for a Grammy Award[2]. Avicii's debut album, True (2013), received positive reviews and topped international charts[3][4][5]. The album's lead single "Wake Me Up" topped most European music charts and reached number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100. True also spawned the singles "You Make Me", "Hey Brother", and "Addicted to You". In 2014, Avicii collaborated with Coldplay, co-writing and co-producing the song "A Sky Full of Stars". In 2015, he released his sophomore album Stories, which spawned the singles "Waiting for Love" and "Without You". In 2017 Avicii released the EP Avīci (01)[6], which included the single "Lonely Together". References
