Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (born September 04, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Born in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child. She rose to fame as the lead singer of 90's girl group Destiny's Child, which was managed by her father Mathew Knowles. Destiny's Child grew to become one of the best-selling girl groups in history, but internal conflicts led to a hiatus from 2002 to 2004. During that time, Beyoncé began her acting career with Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and released her first solo album, 2003's Dangerously in Love. The album debuted at No. on the US Billboard 200, earned Beyoncé five Grammy Awards, and established Beyoncé as a solo artist worldwide[2]. Dangerously in Love also spawned two singles that peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100: "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". Read more here... References
