Paul David Hewson (born May 10, 1960), known by his stage name Bono (/ˈbɒnoʊ/), is an Irish singer-songwriter, activist and philanthropist[1]. He is the lead singer and main lyrist of the rock band U2. Born and raised in Dublin, Bono attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School where he met Alison Stewart, his future wife. He also met the future band members of U2 when he responded to drummer Larry Mullen Jr's. request for musicians for a new band in 1976[2][3]. Bono soon established himself as U2's passionate frontman through his expressive vocal style and grandiose songwriting. His lyrics frequently include social and political themes, and religious imagery inspired by his Christian beliefs[4] For example, the title for "Where the Streets Have No Name" alludes to the belief that it is possible to identify a person's religion based on the street where they live. During U2's early career, Bono's lyrics, such as those in "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", contributed to the band's rebellious and spiritual tone. As the group matured, his lyrics became more inspired by his and U2's personal experiences. For instance, "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was inspired by a fictional conversation with Bono's friend Michael Hutchence. In 2021, Bono voiced Clay Calloway for the animated film Sing 2. He also performed "Your Song Saved My Life", a U2 song specifically written for the film. Read more here… References
