"Bury a Friend" was released on January 30, 2019 as the third single for Eilish's debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, a lyric serving as the latter's title. Upon its release, the song topped Sweden and Latvia's official music charts. It also peaked within the top ten in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand's charts. In the United States, "Bury a Friend" achieved Triple Platinum status.
