Sing Wiki

"Chop Suey!" is a song recorded by System of a Down. It was originally released on August 13, 2001 as the group's first single for their second album, Toxicity (2001). "Chop Suey!" was a modest success commercially, peaking at Number 17 on the UK Singles Chart and Number 14 on the Australian chart, becoming System of a Down's highest charting single to date in the latter country. In the US, "Chop Suey!" is the band's lowest charting single to date; it peaked at Number 76 because it was pulled from the radio over its lyrics. However, the song was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 2002 Grammy Awards.

In Sing 2, Miss Crawly sings along to "Chop Suey!" on the radio as she drives a race car on the way to Clay Calloway's house.

[Intro: Serj Tankian]
We're rolling "*******"

[Verse]
Wake up (Wake up)
Grab a brush and put a little makeup
Hide your scars to fade away the shakeup (Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup)
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go, create another fable, you wanted to
Grab a brush and put a little makeup, you wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup, you wanted to
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? You wanted to

[Chorus] with I don't think you trust
[Daron Malakian]
In my self-righteous *******
I cry when angels deserve to
[Serj Tankian]
die

[Verse]
Ah! Wake up (Wake up)
Grab a brush and put a little makeup (A little bit)
Hide the scars to fade away the (Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup)
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go, create another fable, you wanted to
Grab a brush and put a little makeup, you wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup, you wanted to
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? You wanted to

[Chorus]
I don't think you trust
[Daron Malakian]
In my self-righteous *******
I cry when angels deserve to die
In my self-righteous *******
I cry
[Serj Tankian]
when angels deserve to die

[Bridge]
Father,
[Daron Malakian]
father,
[Serj Tankian]
father,
[Daron Malakian]
father
[Serj Tankian]
Father,
[Daron Malakian]
father,
[Serj Tankian]
father,
[Daron Malakian]
father
[Serj Tankian]
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit
Father, into your hands
Why have you forsaken me?
In your eyes, forsaken me?
In your thoughts, forsaken me?
In your heart, forsaken me? Oh

[Outro: Both]
Trust in my self-righteous *******
I cry when angels deserve to die
In my self-righteous *******
I cry when angels deserve to die
