Deee-Lite was an American house group formed 1986. It began in New York City as a duo, with vocalist Lady Miss Kier (born Kierin Magenta Kirby) and DJ Dimitry (born Dmitry Brill), but became a trio in 1988 when Jungle DJ Towa Tei (born Dong-hwa Chung) joined the group. In 1990, Deee-Lite released their debut album World Clique, which contains the single, "Groove Is in the Heart". The song would become their most popular, peaking in the top ten of multiple countries' charts and featuring in the soundtracks of many movies and television shows, including a TV spot used to promote the release of Sing.
