The Earphones of Enlightenment are a brand of headphones meant to inspire users to get into shape. They are promoted by Garry "The Winner" Wishmann. HistoryEddie's Life CoachEddie's mother buys him a pair of these headphones in an attempt to get him to be more active and ambitious. She tells him he must complete the one-week lifestyle course the headphones come with and present her with its graduation certificate, and that she will kick him out if he doesn't. The recordings of Garry's voice in the headphones guide and instruct Eddie with a strict and rigorous exercise schedule and diet. Eddie is initially reluctant to participate, but eventually adjusts and excels. At the end of the week, he completes the course, but is then instructed to pay an additional fee of $99.95 to obtain the certificate. Furious at this, Eddie confronts Garry, who is revealed to be just as lazy as Eddie usually is. Garry explains that it was his mother's idea for him to advertise the headphones, as the alternative was her kicking him out because of his lack of ambition. He gives Eddie the certificate, and the two give up on being ambitious and play Diamonds of Greyfork together. Gallery
