After beginning his career in advertising, Guillon shifted to children's entertainment after being hired by animation studio Fantôme, where he served as design supervisor for the early CGI television series InseKtorS (1994-1995). Later, Guillon became the art director for the French animated series SamSam (2007-2011). Guillon achieved his greatest success at Illumination, where he has worked on all of their films since Despicable Me (2010).
