GMO the Musical Poster Signage GMO the Musical is a Halloween-themed theatrical stage play performed at the Moon Theater in Sing: Thriller. Role in Sing: Thriller Buster Moon and his music troupe put on the greatly-anticipated show at the beginning of the short. Cast Meena as a young girl/the protagonist Unnamed children as mutant singing vegetables Gunter as a mutant singing carrot Ash as a mad scientist Johnny as a mad scientist Story A young girl is driving to a party when her car gets a flat tire. As she tries to figure out how to fix it, the car disappears in a puff of smoke. She hears a noise and asks if someone is there, to which a kid in the audience responds, "I'm here!", making the audience laugh. Much to her shock, sentient vegetables emerge from the ground singing Thriller. They surround her and take her to a laboratory where she meets a talking carrot and two mad scientists. They all take part in singing Thriller, then the scientists use a machine to turn the girl into a giant lemon. Trivia "GMO" is an acronym for "genetically modified organism", referring to the controversial use of biotechnology to improve the taste and appearance of food. Meena wears a blue sweater in the promotional poster for the play, seen in the first movie and the opening of the second movie. However, she wears a pink sweater in the performance.
