Gregory Allen Kurstin (born May 14, 1969) is an American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and record producer. Kurstin began his music career as a jazz pianist and later co-founded the band Peggy Tah. He and American singer-songwriter Inara George have performed as The Bird and the Bee since 2004[1]. Most notable is Kurstin's work with famous artists such as Sia, Beck, Kelly Clarkson, Paul McCartney, Pink, Tegan and Sara[2], Lily Allen, and the Foo Fighters. He often plays guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums, and engineers and programs the records he produces[3], such as Adele's record breaking 2015 single "Hello"[1]. Kurstin has been associated with records which have cumulatively sold over 60 million copies worldwide[4]. At the 2015 Grammy Awards, Kurstin was nominated for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), while the song "Chandelier", which he co-wrote with and produced for Sia, was nominated for record of the year.
