"Higher Love" is a song written by Steve Winwood (long after his departure from the Spencer Davis Group) and Will Jennings, performed by Whitney Houston, and re-produced after Houston's death by Norwegian record producer and DJ Kygo. Originally, Houston recorded Winwood and Jennings' song in December 1989 with producer Narada Michael Walden; this track was released on the Japanese version of her third album I'm Your Baby Tonight (1990). In December 2018, Kygo produced a new arrangement of Houston's cover as the lead single of his third album Golden Hour (2020), though Walden remained credited as co-producer[2][3]. Upon its debut, the song peaked at number two in the UK Singles Chart, making it Kygo's third top ten single there and first to reach the nation's top five. It is also Houston's eighteenth single and first posthumous release to peak within the UK top ten. It can be found on the Sing 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. In Sing 2, the track plays as Buster Moon and the New Moon Theater performers check into the Crystal Tower Hotel and take in its sights. Lyrics[Intro] References
