It was released on July 31, 2015 as the lead single for Drake's fourth album Views (2016), though it serves as the final track on the album itself[1]. Upon its release, Hotline Bling peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number three in the UK and Drake's native Canada. At the 2016 American Music Awards, "Hotline Bling" won the award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Song[2]. The song also won Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards[3].
