Christopher Brian Bridges (born September 11, 1977), known professionally as Ludacris, is an American rapper, actor, and founder of record label Disturbing tha Peace (DTP) Entertainment. Along with fellow Atlanta-based hip hop group OutKast, Ludacris was one of the first and most influential "Southern hip hop" rappers to achieve mainstream success in the early 2000s. Born in Champaign, Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta at the age of nine, where he began his rapping career.

After a brief stint as a DJ, Ludacris released his debut album Incognegro in 1999;  Back for the First Time followed in 2000, which contained Top 40 charting singles "Southern Hospitality" and "What's Your Fantasy". In 2001, Ludacris released Word of Mouf, followed by Chicken-n-Beer (2003). In 2004, he released The Red Light District and appeared in the film Crash, winning a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance. Ludacris' next two albums, Release Therapy (2006) and Theater of the Mind (2008) had a more serious tone; the former contains hit single "Money Maker" featuring Pharrell Williams. In 2010, Ludacris released Battle of the Sexes, which returned to the style of his previous albums, and appeared on DJ Khaled's hit single "All I Do Is Win", which appeared in a TV spot used to promote Sing.
