Panic! at the Disco is an American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada. The band was founded in 2004 by childhood friends Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. Since 2015, vocalist Urie has been the only official member, with drummer Dan Pawlovich, bassist Nicole Row, and guitarist Mike Naran serving as touring members. Urie, Ross, Smith, and Wilson recorded their first demos when they were in high school. Shortly after, Panic! at the Disco recorded and released their debut album, 2005's A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Due to the popularity its second single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", the album was certified triple platinum in the US. During a 2006 world tour, bassist Wilson was fired and replaced with Jon Walker. Influenced by the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Zombies, Panic! at the Disco's changed their sound for their sophomore album, Pretty. Odd. (2008), and its preceding single, "Nine in the Afternoon". Following its release, Urie and Smith wanted to make further changes to the band's style, which conflicted with Ross and Walker's enjoyment of their current sound. Ultimately the latter two left and formed new band the Young Veins. Continuing as a duo, Urie and Smith released the single "New Perspective" for the 2009 movie Jennifer's Body, and hired bassist Dallon Weekes and guitarist Ian Crawford as touring musicians. In 2010, Weekes was inducted into Panic! at the Disco as a full time member. Although he did not perform on the band's third album, Vices & Virtues (2011), Weekes developed its cover art. Crawford ultimately departed in 2012, following the completion of the Vices & Virtues Tour. As a trio, Urie, Smith, and Weekes recorded the 2013 album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!; prior to the album's release, Smith unofficially left the band due to health and addiction-related issues. Panic! at the Disco recruited Pawlovich and guitarist Kenneth Harris as touring musicians. In 2015, Smith officially announced his departure from the band; shortly thereafter, Weekes reverted to being a touring member. That April, "Hallelujah" was released as the lead single for the album Death of a Bachelor (2016). The second single, "Victorious", was Panic! at the Disco's first to chart in the Top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100 since "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". Read more here...
