Sir James Paul McCartney CH MBE (born June 18, 1942) is an English singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record and film producer, and businessman. He is one of the most successful composers and performers who ever lived, having written or co-written 32 songs that reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He is also one of the wealthiest musicians in the world, with a net worth of $1.2 billion. McCartney achieved worldwide fame as a singer and the bass-guitarist of the Beatles, who are widely considered to be the most popular and influential band in history. His songwriting partnership with John Lennon is considered to be one of the most successful musical collaborations of all time[1]. After the group's 1970 dissolution, McCartney began an extensive career as a solo artist, and formed the band Wings with his first wife Linda, and musician Denny Lane. The Beatles' final recorded album, 1969's Abbey Road, contains the songs "Golden Slumbers" and "Carry That Weight". Although credited to "Lennon–McCartney", both songs were written by McCartney alone[2][3]. A medley of both songs was used in key moments during Sing. Furthermore, to promote the film's release McCartney's 1979 song "Wonderful Christmastime" was covered on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon by Sing's actors, Fallon, The Roots, and McCartney himself.
