William Leonard Roberts II (born January 28, 1976), known professionally as Rick Ross, is an American rapper, entrepreneur and record executive[1]. After releasing his debut single, 2006's "Hustlin'", Ross became the subject of a bidding war; he ultimately signed a multi-million dollar deal with Jay-Z's Def Jam Records[2][3]. Later that year, Ross released his first studio album, Port of Miami, through Def Jam Records; the album debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and sold 187,000 units during it's first week[2][4]. In 2008, Ross released his sophomore album, Trilla, which also debuted atop the Billboard 200[5]. Ross founded the record label Maybach Music Group in 2009, on which he released studio album Deeper Than Rap the same year. He followed the album with Teflon Don (2010), God Forgives, I Don't (2012), Mastermind, Hood Billionaire (2014), Black Market (2015), and Rather You Than Me (2017).
