Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (ˈsiːə; born December 18, 1975) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and music video director[1]. She began her music career in the mid-1990s, as a singer in Adelaide acid-jazz band Crisp. Following the band's dissolution in 1997, Sia released her debut album, OnlySee, which failed to chart. She moved to London, England, and provided lead vocals for British duo Zero 7. Sia also released the solo albums Healing is Difficult (2001) and Colour the Small One (2004), neither of which charted.

In 2005, Sia relocated to New York City and began touring in the United States. Her next albums, Some People Have Real Problems (2008) and We Are Born (2010), were more successful than her previous work, eventually being certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Uncomfortable with her growing fame, Sia took a hiatus from performing in favor of writing songs for other artists. Successful collaborations during this period include "Titanium" (with David Guetta), "Diamonds" (with Rihanna), and "Wild Ones" (with Flo Rida).

Sia finally broke through as a solo artist in 2014, when her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and spawned top ten single "Chandelier". In 2016, Sia released her seventh album, This Is Acting, which contains first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single, "Cheap Thrills". She also embarked on her first arena concert tour, the Nostalgia for the Present Tour, on the same year.
