Chat moderator What are chat moderators? We're currently looking for chat moderators. Check back later to see when we will be looking for some. Chat moderators are users who take of the wiki chat and ban/kick disrupting users. Chat moderators have the ability to kick users out of chat and to ban users from chat. Being a chat moderator is a very hard job and is harder than people think. Requirements Any applying users should have over eighty article edits. We prefer for you to have been a member of the wiki for at least three weeks. You cannot have been blocked on the wiki ever. Expectations Chat moderators are expected to come on at least four times a week. Chat moderators are expected to work cooperatively with others. Chat moderators are expected to be as nice and polite as possible to all users. Chat moderators are expected to keep the rest of the admin team notified about anything important that happens in the wiki chat. Chat moderators are expected to act as role models to users on the wiki. Applying for chat moderator When the wiki is looking for chat moderators, it will be posted at the top of this page. When the wiki is not looking for chat moderators, you cannot apply to be one. You will have to wait for our two month concensus. Every two months, the wiki will have a community discussion regarding the rules, layouts, and admins on the wiki to make sure everything is running smoothly and is in everyone's favor. If the community votes that we need another chat moderators or need to replace one, chat moderator applications will be accepted. OR if you feel that you or another user is a user who deserves to be chat moderator and applications are not being accepted at that time, you may bring up the matter on the wiki improvements board. Follow the procedure below to apply for an administrator position. Procedure Add your name under, current applicants. Fill out the application form below. Answer the given questions. Send it all to the admins here. After applications and questions are received, they will be posted on this page Application Name: Tell us your username. Introduction: Give a short introduction about yourself as a person and a user. Working style and skills: Give an explanation about how you work, how well you work with others, and what your working style is. Then give an explanation about any skills you have that may help you as a chat moderator. Weaknesses: Give an explanation about any weaknesses you posses that may affect you as a chat moderator. Experience: List any experience you have on any other wiki. Make sure to tell your position if you have rights. Recommendations: Please give any recommendations from other users. We ask you to ask users who may know a lot about you and your working style to write up a recommendation about you, telling why they think you'd make a good chat moderator. We prefer these users to be users you have worked with on wikis before. Please give at least one recommendation and at most, six. TheDisneyFan2001 Status: Application received. APPLICATION Name: TheDisneyFan2001 (or Luke) Introduction: I love being able to edit and contribute, not just here but any other Wiki that interests me. I don't know why but I love being in chat and try to keep a close eye and observe what is going on. Working style and skills: I'm the type of behind-the-scenes user who edits little mistakes or taking care of the edits that most people don't want to. I think that I work great with others! I actually try to make friends by looking at the common interests that I have, and usually from that point on, we chat every once in awhile. Even to users who are new and don't have common interests, I still try to be polite and friendly and welcome them to the Wiki with a kind attitude! Weaknesses: Schoolwork. That's kinda why I want to be a chat moderator because I can manage both at the same time. Experience: Well this is actually the first Wiki where I have become a Chat Moderator. I usually only join the big-name Wiki's and from there it's unlikely that you would be promoted unless you've been there for years sometimes. Since I do like to be in chat, I observe the moderators so I'm pretty confident on the basics on their behavior in the chatroom. Recommendations: SirBlaze is the only other user that I've ran into but he is already an Administrator. He's really nice though and welcoming, so you did do a good job on picking him! Questions: 1. What I think is the most important about a chat moderator is making sure that everybody feels welcome in chat and how to approach a conflict and hearing both sides of the situation before I take any drastic measures. 2. Whenever I can. I would be there way more often if I didn't have school. 3. Making sure that everybody feels included, I love making people feel happy, because the first impression makes all of the difference! 4. A kind attitude, without a kind attitude then what's the point of eing a chat moderator. 5. Like I said before, hearing both sides of the story and look at the facts before I make any drastic descisions. 6. I apply all of my life skills and qualities to how I act in chat. Being kind is the most important. 7. I love welcoming people to chat and just like you have your duties to the Wiki I just feel like it's my calling to take care of chat! I just love chat!
