"Stay With Me" is a single from Sam Smith's debut album In the Lonely Hour. It was released as the third single from the album on April 17, 2014. The song was co-written by Smith, James Napier, and William Phillips, with the late Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne later receiving credits due to the song's noted melodic similarity to Petty's single "I Won't Back Down". "Stay With Me" is Sam Smith's most successful single to date, charting at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and at No. 1 on the UK Chart. It also reached Top 10 status in over twelve countries worldwide. A remix of "Stay With Me" by Darkchild won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards[1][2]. In "Sing", Johnny performed this song as his audition for Buster Moon's singing competition. A snippet of "Stay With Me" appears as part of the "Auditions" track on the Sing: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Lyrics[Verse 1] References
